Hi 

Just wanting to put some feelers out regarding a new initiative I am in the process of developing.

At the moment I have to travel to get to a slot car club so I have a premises to rent out and have access to a half decent rally track. This is a small premise pavilion in build but big enough to set up a good size rally track. The building is being refurbished and should be ready for November time. 

My plan is to host a rally night on a Monday at least once a month, just to gauge the appetite for the hobby and with the mindset of recruiting members from around the area to the delights of slot car racing. 

The club will be held in the village if Tilson , near Whitchurch and Holt Cheshire Shropshire Welch border.

I am hopeful with a little advertising and community engagement I can make this a feature and expand to a racing club in the area.

Good luck Paul! Launching a new club is a big deal, but also very exciting...

If you want to go down a community-based club route, I'd be delighted to share what we did when we first launched WHO Racing and what we still do to keep the numbers up. That sort of club - which tends to be 'dads & lads' - isn't everyone's cup of tea, but it works for us.

No doubt it will take a while to establish so uphill at first.  Difficult to know the best way to spread the word, local community radio might help but be careful ...

Nick Huxley has a 100ft 4 lane wood track in Higher Heath on the A41 South of Whitchurch. I pop over from Telford every second Monday just to keep my eye in. Nick is a member of the Wolverhampton club.
I showed him your post last night and we are somewhat confused as neither of us know a village called Tilson , near Whitchurch? We do know Tilstock near Whitchurch and Holt Cheshire though. Please clarify your proposed location.

TILSTON  which is near Malpas on the way to Farndon / Holt.


That track of Nick sounds great ?, myself and Steve Hills are both interested in getting something going in the Whitchurch area and have a lot of conversations of how to go about starting a Club in the area. 
 Once everything is in place I will post on here a date and time for a rally night .

Thanks for the clarification Paul, I can see Tilston on the map and I'm sure Nick will know being local. Steve knows Nick's track having called in one night. Picture attached.

Appreciate you getting back to me , Nick’s track looks great and myself and Steve would love to have a bash around it but obviously only if Nick agrees of course, and you haven’t got to many racers to make it crowded. 

Not sure when I can get the building to set up the rally track as I have a lot of ground work to do before getting a date etc.. but for sure you get an invite.

Well the plan is coming together I have the track in place and a venue . 
Just got to get it going … looking to getting it started after Xmas.

Track looks good and the copper is all in place. 

Anybody who would like to have a rally evening who lives local to Tilston Village the playing field Church Road Cheshire West. 

For now I have one track but am working on a second track for latter if I can generate the interest locally.
