Rnd 9 - Saturday 14th September.
A race report with a difference this time.
Ten racers turned up to assemble the track on race night but for some reason they were feeling a bit camera shy, so rather than focusing on the track action, drivers and marshals we've gone for their pit boxes instead.
Typically for the owner/driver challenge there were many different makes and body styles represented, with the RS200's turning out in abundance. Racing was 'fast and furious' during the four minute heats across all six lanes. Vic brought his MSC Subaru home in top spot just a fifth of a lap ahead of Mark J. Shaun took the third step on the podium, with Mark R having to be content with fastest lap this time, dipping into the elevens with an 11.805.

Everyone's in it for fun but you can see from the photo's that some take their fun a LOT more seriously than others! No names, no pack drill, although club members will know whose is whose.
Support race: Club Ninco Peugeot 206's.
As usual these were great fun, with close combat on most corners, Shaun coming home in first place just a tenth of a lap ahead of a hard charging Mark R. Not to be outdone Mark J secured third spot just three tenths of a lap further back. Talking of 'Mark's', although ninth overall Wayne made HIS 'mark' with a class fastest lap of 13.226 seconds, showing he can really get some pace out of these things. With a bit of luck he could have been higher.
Main race: Owner/driver Rally cars. Inline chassis. Max motor rpm of 21k.

The car to have - an RS200 - but not the overall winner, despite the odds.
That went to Vic's rare (?) MSC Subaru - same chassis, better handling.
