This class is still fairly new with just a couple of rounds last year and this is the third of this year - but its already producing some very close racing with a close spread of iap times throughout the field. Nigel's BMW 3 series is currently the class of the field with several DTM Audis in close attendance.
Andy Taylor's Audi was going so well in the C final that he lapped the others three times to win. Paul and Mark had their own private tussle with Paul coming in second although I think he waited a couple of times so he could continue the fight!
Peter led early on in the B final with his sinister black Calibra but after Terry had recovered from being taken out by Ralph for the second time in the evening he gradually got to the front with Andy Taylor second. Ralph dropped to fourth at the end behind Peter.
Nigel and I were the only two on the night to record sub - seven second laps but the birthday boy Gibbs gradually pulled away to win while I had to fight hard to keep second from Keith. Terry was fourth.
Next week its Slot.It.

Keith 21

I Was building this for the upcoming Bordo meeting. However I cannot attend for many reasons. As this style of car is not what I collect I will finish it and sell it.
I originally bought it off ebay. Was cheap - so I cannot complain as the chassis is nothing to speak of - I was not going to upgrade it, was going to try it and see how it worked
. Essentially a cut up womp. (will take some pics of it and post)
So it arrived like this:
I completely stripped it, removed the flat sheet interior with Cox driver, purchased a new kit of fleybayand cut and sanded the interior to fit the motor, added a John Warren Driver, removed the Parma motor,, and added a Pactra orange endbell'd can to it, in anticipation of a little added speed.Sprayed it light blue. So far it looks like this :

Here is my home-made powered set-up plate.
A cheap offcut of 10mm Perspex forms the base - very stiff and flat. So this is good for making sure my chassis is flat and all 4 wheels in contact with the plate.
I routed the slot and applied adhesive copper tape (I like my front wheels to be only just touching the track so if it sits flat on copper tape, it is a fraction higher on SPORT track which is what I am looking to achieve).
The next step was to power it so I can use a mule chassis to true tyres (a mule chassis to avoid burning out my racing motors and frying my chips if I stall whilst truing).
The copper tape runs off the edge and down. The plasticard stop fence is a few layers of thick plasticard glued together and then screwed into the Perspex. The bars to feed in the power from my bench supply are short lengths of copper braid which the power leads attach to with crocodile clips.
If you try this yourself just make sure you cut Perspex as slowly as you can or you risk causing cracks and risk the heat melting it and jamming up your router bit or drill. You need to drill pilot holes for the self-tappers so they only just cut into the pilot hole - don’t force it or it risks cracks. If in doubt drill bigger and coat the screws in adhesive as you put them in.
Simple and effective and probably cost around GBP6 all in.
Hello,
(If like me you are currently straddling two forums, don't worry, this is not déjà vu, you have read this elsewhere!! I am just hedging my bets by posting on two forums.
)
I was wondering if anyone knows which Halfords rattle can is a good suitable substitute for Ferrari red. (Funnily enough they don't have a Ferrari range!!)
I am painting a 1982 126C2 and need to purchase the paint and so I thought I would see if there is a consensus as to which colour is closest.
Thanks in advance for any comments,
Philip
Hi everybody,
My next track is the Swedish Rally Track.
The table is 5.45m long, with a width between 2.27m and 0.92m.
It is a one lane rally track and the Swedish houses and stable are all handmade.
The trees are made from copper wire.
The figures are modified to cope with the winter conditions.
Please, enjoy the photos.
