Hello all,
I just received a message about the above re-opening this Saturday.  The web page is a bit suspicious so am wondering if its some sort of scxam?
Like typical scams it says "Membership is limited and set to be very popular so don't miss out"

Anyone know anything about this?  I registered for updates so it may be legitimate.

Repairing Bodies, Glues (Super Glue, Araldite, Epoxy etc.)

Well as the thread topic suggests, what glues do you use and recommend for repairing of car bodies, such as gluing the side mirrors, F1 air wings, and other plastic parts that break when the car leaves the slot and smacks the floor  Ambulance

I ask as I have tried now on two occasions using Super Glue with no effect at all.

I couldn't work out where to place this thread, thought Tips & Tuning could be the better Thread for this, if not please relocate it.

Cheers
Johnno

We got asked to do a demo at a local farmer's market. I did not say no fast enough, so we had to build this quickly.

Good evening All

Just home from another great night at Presto with 14 drivers and the usual spectators.

It was an up and down night during the heats with some drivers doing well in some lanes then bad in other lanes.

This showed in the varied lap times and the determination of the drivers.

Some excellent racing with some very close finishes as well as the heats where the winner was laps ahead, but nothing from the unusual.

So to the finals: -

Final E
Alf took his place in blue lane and Ian R took green lane. The lights went out for 25 laps and it was Alf who took the lead and managed to stay there although Ian put up a good

fight to the end.

Final D
Keith took his place on the grid in red, Imac in blue, Viv in Green and Alf in Yellow.

The lights went out and the cars raced away and Keith fell behind after a mistake, but soon got going and managed to catch everyone to take the lead at lap 11 while the

other places swapped several times, but after 25 laps the result was Keith taking the win (Thanks Andy for the loan of the Audi it went well) Alf did very well to finish second

ahead of Viv in third and Imac bringing up the rear and he chased hard to the end.

Final C
Tone was in red, Lyle in Blue, Ray in Green, and Keith took his place in Yellow.

The start was very close and everyone stayed close for a while, then Lyle and Tone broke away leaving Keith and Ray to battle it out for the lower places.

After 25 laps it was Lyle that took the win with Tone in second, Keith Third and Ray fourth.

Final B
On the grid Richard T was in red, Andy in blue, Alan in green and Lyle in Yellow

The lights went out and away went the cars and it was thought to be a close battle, but Alan pushed hard sometimes to hard, but managed to stay out in front and after some

close racing with Richard T managed to stay ahead to take the win with Richard T close behind in second to be followed by Andy and Lyle.

Final A
Steve was in red, James H in blue, Mike in Green and Alan in yellow.

As expected this was a very fast final with all driver in the low 6's and places swapping many times before things settled down and the racing got very fast . the place where

swapping over and over again till the last lap when the places had settled for Mike to take the win from Steve in second, James H in third and Alan fourth.

The nights results are as follows: -

Mike                 25

Steve               23

James H          21 + 1pt for fastest lap 6.536

Alan H             20

Richard T        19

Andy               18

Lyle                 17

Tone               16

Keith               15

Ray                 14

Alf                   13

Viv                  12

I Mac              11

Ian R              10

The track is 75' long ( equal lane length within 2"), and crammed into less than 200 sq. ft. of renovated garage.  Each lane has an individual power supply that you can adjust to whatever voltage you want.  Each driver station connects to the timing computer which automatically handicaps lap times.  That means you can race any car against any other car, or any other skill level racer, and still have a VERY competitive racing!  That program was invented by fellow racer Roger...a computer genius as far as I'm concerned!  Fastest lap time so far is 7.205 seconds!

I'm beginning to think that there is a scheme going around to ban the use of the Apple Mac for ever. First I get random changes in the layout of the headline pics and now I can't use smileys. They have changed to having a little check box before them which goes dark when clicked on but nothing will make the smiley appear in the text! Before, they just appeared on their own and were added normally!

PS. I just changed from Slotracer 2 (as it came originally) to 'default' and it now lists them with checkboxes AND a group of them to the left of the text box.

Most strange! Haven't seen them there before but.......they still won't work!

Rally Chile 2019 ran at the weekend. This is the first time a round of the WRC has been held in Chile so there were a lot of unknowns and much talk of it being a level play-field. Perhaps predictably Ott Tanack won in a Toyota Yaris.
This was an event included in the Sébastien Loeb package for Hyundai and once again "The Special One" again showed his class to finish in third place just 7.1 seconds behind reigning champ Sébastien Ogier (Citroen C3).  In due homage to Loeb, here are a couple of slot cars from his first WRC career (9 times champion).
