What is it with some people who, when asking for help, do not provide any feedback on advice offered? Even when they are asked if they did what was suggested ....... they do not bother to answer that either ..... Banghead

SCALEXTRIC - THE ULTIMATE GUIDE - 8TH EDITION
Author: Adrian Norman
[Image: 2017-05-31-001-015.jpg?w=680&h=507]
The book series has been written as a result of decades of experience in collecitng and racing Scalextric. For many decades Scalextric has been the toy or hobby of choice. Its social, business and competition history together withs its product range is immense and, therefore, the latest edition (8th) has grown to reflect this.

If you need to know anything about the history of Scalextric from the 1950s up until 2015 then this is the book for you! First published in 1981 this tome of ‘all things Scalextric’ has grown to a massive 700+ pages. Now with a ‘Collectors check box’ feature in the new Gallery section showing images of all cars ever produced.
This book is a complete history of Scalextric and includes aspects such as the business history, the products, the events, the competition history, the evolution and development and, of course, complete inventory listings of Sets, Cars, Accessories, Track, etc, etc.

The book is available through two of the UK's recommended and leading authorities on Scalextric and slot-cars. Just search online to buy ‘SCALEXTRIC – THE ULTIMATE GUIDE - 8th Edition'. The book is approved by Hornby Hobbies (and available on their website).

The book's online wesite is www.slotcarportal.com. Also see slotcarportal.com and Scalextric ultimage guide on facebook.

Thank you.

Hi people,
I have 4 race prepared cars to sell, and some alloy hubs.

Starting with the hubs, slot it 15.8 x 10 air hubs without holes (part number sipa49-alf I believe).
These have been used, so require a clean up with a sharp blade and/or nail file (see pics).
I have 5 sets (10 hubs) and I am asking £18 delivered to UK for all 10.

Next up, a few cars I built and used in the clubs  "Goodwood A" class, but as I now run the "Goodwood B" class these are surplus to requirements.
We run on wood and copper tape track.

Slot It GT40, Trimmed chassis, Air hubs with N22 tyres trued and glued, stock fronts varnished, trimmed slot it wood guide, NSR soft braids, runs very well.
I am asking £42 delivered to the UK.

READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!

I have been using a TruSpeed MT II controller for many years now, it is an excellent product and I have been perfectly happy with it. However, I confess to never reading the instructions and guessing at the settings - it is a man thing. Recently I was looking at their website and came across a quick start guide

.pdf TruSpeed_MT_II_-_Quick_Start_Guide.pdf Size: 135.26 KB  Downloads: 908
which I read and discovered I had been using the wrong settings all this time. I adjusted things accordingly and took two tenths off my lap times almost immediately. Doh!Banghead

SO - this weekly thread seems to be flagging.....  geddit?? (except for people painting etc :)  ) Should we change to bi-weekly, leave as is  - suggestions.

Putting up my collecting phase at the moment for this week..... Can Am and USSRC class racing. I have a Hawk 2A and unknown 2J on my desk at the moment. Always loved the flamboyance of this class , from the first wings to a motor on each wheel, and from huge tyres to go cart fronts....

Brian's superb thread on Vanquish, showed their superb choice of cars but their complete lack of customer care in supplying what the customer wants.

There are also all the Rev/Mon cars out there as well as the new Thunderslot.

Lets see them all

I am not sure if this puts me in the minority, but I don't like.
I know the old one had not been updated with new stuff for a while, but I think that was much easier to navigate to find what you wanted than the new "virtual booklet" stuff.
I know some cars used this on the old site, which was fine, but for all the parts ? no doesn't float my boat at all !
