The image is a jpg on my hard drive.
I have tried copying and pasting, sharing via google drive, using the 'insert image' option...
All I get is the filename in the message, or a little generic picture 'blob' icon.
Only asking because I receive messages with photos so I know it must be possible!
Hi everybody.
Last week I painted my last batch of Tarn Models figures (before named Tarn Model Foundry).
After several years of staying in their blister packs, they are finished now.
Here are some photos of the painting process:

Tarn Models figures still in their blister packs. The figures are glued together.
After degreasing a layer of white primer was applied. The painting of the figures.

The 2014 Scalextric World Championship was the penultimate year of the event and the last that had a proper international feel. There had been races in Australia, the Caribbean, Singapore, Holland, Denmark and across the UK. The final round took place at Worthing HO Racing on Saturday 20 December.
We'd brought our WHO/digital offshoot to the Barn earlier in the year - after a couple of years of Mike thrilling us with his digital rug racing. Mike and me had chatted to Adrian Norman at the UK Slot Car Festival in May and he suggested we host a round of the Scalextric World Championship. We'd provide plenty of local publicity for the brand, we'd get the Platinum set to add to the club's kit and the opportunity to attract lots of potential racers.
For a flavour of what hosting an event involved, here's the guide to the 2015 SWC:
In the couple of months beforehand, around 5,000 fliers and posters were distributed to local venues, shops, cafes, schools, workplaces and all the local libraries in our part of West Sussex. Several press releases were written and sent out - and small articles were printed in all the Worthing and Sussex newspapers. This one from the Worthing Herald...
Mike and me did the rounds of local radio stations, including a trip to the BBC Radio Sussex studios in Brighton the day before the event...
The Saturday saw a very early start and a great turn-out of WHO helpers...
The World Championship track was the standard layout of the Scalextric Digital Platinum set - a small circuit that was the same for every World Championship round, together with the same un-fettled Super-Resistant GT cars. A set of precise rules & regulations came with from Scalextric and we played everything by the book...
Alongside the little Platinum layout, Mike designed a big track - based on the nearby Goodwood circuit - to showcase our WHO/digital formats with SSDC race management software, fuel burn and pit stops...
After a busy few hours setting up, we were ready... but would anyone turn up?
hallo ben net nieuw hier.
zie dat er handige mensen zijn.
iemand heeft ook een universele chip gemaakt.
die ook op ninco digital kan worden gebruikt.
I'm sure you've all noticed The Digest on the home page by now, and hopefully one or two of you might have checked out the weekly issues, and perhaps found something of interest.
As you'll have gathered, it veers wildly across a wide spectrum of interests, from slot cars, to design, motor sports, and cars in general. Sometimes it will be a bang on trend examination of what's new on the catwalk of the slot car world, and at other times we'll dive back into history to remind ourselves of past glories.
Sometimes it will make sense, and sometimes it will just be me being a magpie, collecting together the interesting, shiny things that I've found.
Should anyone have anything they'd like to see included, or if you'd like to join the Digest's editorial team just PM me.
This SCX version is modeled after the 1955 LeMans EX182 prototype driven by Ken Miles and Johnny Lockett. The production MGA model would not be officially release to the public for another 3 months. The #41 was one of four prototypes entered by the MG Competitions Department with lightweight aluminum panels, cut-down windshield, covered passenger compartment, enclosed rear view mirror, and a driving light imbedded in the grille. The SCX version is missing the leather hood straps and the horizontal air intake in the hood (bonnet) seen on the factory car.

This is the first SCX car I’ve owned; I was surprised to see that there is no wiring in this model. It has LED headlights and brake lights. The driving light imbedded in the grill is not lit. The LED’s, guide and motor are all connected with copper strips, not wiring. This method causes the front end to ride very high because the copper strips are sprung to maintain contact against the guide, there is not a front body mounting post only the copper strip tension holding the chassis under the lip of the body. On my non-magnetic track car the wheels did not touch the track because of this. On a magnetic track the strength of the magnet may overcome this tension. The wheels are independent stub axles but suffer from a sloppy fit. The rear axle bushings were loose and of poor fit. It uses a small FC-130 size, but has unique motor mounts, that would require modification to fit a standard FC-130 type motor.

On my track (non-magnetic) its performance was lacking, it was an effort to get it to lap with any speed; however, I think the body is excellent and looks good on the track.
I wish there were more slot cars available of classic British sports cars, unfortunately very are few manufactured by larger the slot car companies. Thankfully; there are several small volume resin resin casters offering these cars. I applaud SCX‘s effort to release this historic car.
I wanted the car to perform as well as it looked. I added a front body mounting post, replaced the chassis with a 1/16” brass chassis with adjustable front axle supports, Scale Auto slim can pod with .5mm offset, and a Scale Auto 8mm deep guide. The motor is Predator 18K slim can FF-050 motor The wheels and tires were replaced with Pendle PCS classic spoke wheels and tires with 2 ear knock-offs. I started with the Pendle 14mm set on all four wheels, but the combination of the offset pod and 14mm rear wheels, did not provide enough rear track clearance. I switch the rear wheels for a 16mm set.

The car now is a pleasure to drive and can be push in the corners with confidence even with the narrow and treaded Pendle tires. Future plans included adding the leather hold down straps, replacing the toy-like driver, and possibly adding the hood intake that was left off the SCX version.

I would like to set this car up to race in my local club’s “vintage” class which allows 8mm tires. I tried some Slot.it 15x8 wheels and N18 compound tires, and some ball bearing independent front wheels with this same chassis/pod and was able to reduce lap times from 6.2 - 6.1 to consistent 5.8’s; however, the tires extended slightly beyond the rear wheel wells. I think there is enough room to get the tires under the body if I modify the pod using Chris Walker's method to eliminate the protrusions for the spherical bearings and replace them with flanged oilites mounted the inside of the pod. This would mean getting rid of the beautiful Pendle spoked wheels and using wire wheel inserts. I would also need to replace the FF- 050 motor and pod with a FC-130 pod and Jack Rabbit motor. This would probably require some modifications to the driver tray since this motor is taller.

Our club has been on lock-down since March because of the virus. Since there’s no rush to make the necessary changes now, I think I’ll just wait, and enjoy the new improved performance, and watch this cool little car zooming around the track.

Hi
Does anyone have any experience of making windscreens for vehicles?
I have a Scalextric truck that I've cut an aperture in for a windscreen and bought some 1mm perspex but I'd like, if possible, to fit into the hole so it's a little recessed around the edges and look 'fitted?'
Is it a case of being really careful with a hot air gun around the edges of the perspex and push fitting until I get the desired result or is there a process out there that I could to follow?
If I can get this right, I might be banging sunroofs in everything!!
Hi
Does anyone know if there are any shops in the Midlands UK that stock a decent selection of slot cars and that are worth visiting?
I maybe going to Ashford, Kent next week as well if there are any en-route from Leicester
Feel the need to actually go in a shop and see before I buy, getting a little bored of buying online
Thanks
Rob
As anyone got / use the spark plug Dongle are they any good as the promo video says. Can you attach one in each of the two lane ports of powerbaces .
Graham.
