Hi,
A detailed video on the worlds first 2.4GHz controller.
Suitable for analogue and digital (Scorpius) racing. Analogue requires the wireless analogue module (receiver and power) which plugs into any analogue driver station. For digital it is used in conjunction with the Scorpius car decoder.
Resolution for controller is 255 steps, the most if any controller. This gives better control and therefore faster lap times. It is configurable on screen 0-100% in 1% increments and you can chose up to ten pre-written throttle curves stored in the controller and selectable as you drive.
Resolution for braking is also 255 steps. It is configurable on screen 0-100% in 1% increments.
Refresh rates are the highest of any wireless controller at 100 per second.
Battery life also leads the market at 3 months for typical user. It is also maintenance free. In stock now.
WAM receiver details here. It’s 50A.

I recently decided it was time to get some holders to stop me putting the controllers on the track and running over them with the cars. There are plenty of designs for home-made ones about but I am too lazy to make my own and the commercial ones I found were either not suitable or the suppliers were located outside the UK with attendant high postage costs so I asked John May if he could 3DP some for me.
Helpful as always he designed, printed and posted them within a week.
They can be mounted horizontally (the best position) or vertically with simple screw fixings and my controllers are now safely stowed away from marauding slot cars.
P.S. If you own a 3D printer then John has generously provided the STL files for this. LINK
Classic Le Manx
Here's a taster of last nights racing...a truly diverse range of cars, it's fair to say an experiment that should be a regular on next years race calendar.
As this was never intended to be a 'first past the post wins' type of event but to see someone else at the top of the results sheet for a change (or even their first time), I've done two results charts, one comparing the cars relative to their predicted results based on their best qualy lap, and the other a kind of 'balance of performance' set of results with the fastest qualifier as the benchmark.
I'll get the report and results charts up in the next day or so in the clubs results thread, meanwhile.......
Hello
Just got back into slot cars as my son & I have recently started going to our local club. He's enjoying & I'm rediscovering my interest!
Found lots of my 90s (and my dad's 60s) kit from the loft. I've got a 90s gantry & light up chicane. Both have the old transformer connectors (two wires with hoops).
What's the best way to hook these up? Can I wire into newer kit? Would it be better to get old classic 12v transformer & run separately from track power? How many things can you hook up to then transformer?
Thanks in advance.
Jacob
I met a Dalek in the pub who claimed he was from Devon so I asked him “Whereabouts in Devon are you from mate ?”
He replied “EXETER MATE ! EXETER MATE ! EXETER MATE !”
Don't know if this is of interest to 1/43 people but Lidl will have quite a large Carrera Go set in the middle aisle from Thursday 1st December, 6.8mtr of track and two GT type cars for £49.99. When it's gone it's gone - as they say.
Next B St E club night, Dec 3rd, is Rally themed.

By massive popular demand.... ...the free, downloadable, printable, SlotRacer calendar is back.
By which I mean that Brian reminded me that I forgot to do one this year, and should probably sort it out for 2023, especially now that we're all getting back to actually doing stuff, rather than just sitting at home.
It has a year to a page frontispiece for easy reference, then separate pages for each month with plenty of room for your notes, reminders and the dreaded 'to do' list. Each page features one of Doug's fabulous slot car photos, and the calendar prints at a standard A4 size.
