Been fed up chasing tools around the desk or from a tray/drawer, so created a tool rack as shown, which screws to the underside of the shelf that runs over my desk in the Summerhouse. The rack has a variety of cut outs to take as shown all the tools I like to have to hand when dabbling with slot cars.
Rack prints upside down without supports and is 264 x 61mm square so should fit most FDM printers.
And a short version in 2 parts for those with tiny printers.
Cheers
JMay.
A friend liked the two finger controller I have for my slot.it controller, and wished there were one for his Professor Motor controller. I looked online but did not find anything that was for the PM controller and that looked comfortable to use, so I got down with the CAD and made my own. After about five revisions, I landed on this one, which installed nicely and functions well, and is comfortable to use.
For strength, it's best to print on the side, and so will need supports for the top part with all the connection points for the controller hardware. This would probably be best in SLS nylon, but we'll see how well the PLA stands up to normal use.

If you would like one, but do not have access to a 3d printer, feel free to PM me.
Our last event of 2022 takes place at the Barn this Saturday, with a full day of Scalextric digital racing...
The plan is to race on the legendary NerdBarnRing layout - and the schedule will look something like this...
8am - track set-up... do come along and help out!
10am – practice & driving school
10.30 – Club Car Rotation
12noon – BTCC Qualifying and Race One step-up race
1.15pm – Lunch break
1.45pm – BTCC Race Two step-up race, followed by draw for reverse grid
2.15pm – GT Super-pole & 48 min team race
3.15pm – BTCC Race Three step-up race
3.45pm – Muscle Car Mondiale: three heats and quick-fire feature
4.45pm – Prizegiving
Race fees: £6 for adults, £4 for under-16s - or £3/£2 for a half day. We now have cashless payment options and will be offering season ticket deals ready for the start of 2023. Ask Terry for details.
Digital Saturday format: There’s time for practice after doors open at 10am, but our club car rotation begins sharp at 10.30am. Please don’t be late. The rotation is a great way to get into the groove and learn the track. You’ll drive each of the six club cars for two minutes each - including a pit stop. The aim is to complete as many laps as possible. The day then progresses with three BTCC races emulating a real BTCC weekend, our popular Muscle Car Mondiale class, plus a GT team race. There’s a break for lunch (you’ll need to provide your own) and we aim to finish by 5pm. Full details are in the 2022 WHO Digital Guide: http://www.whoracing.org.uk/who_digital_...02020.html
Covid precautions: It seems sensible to keep our usual common-sense precautions in place to keep vulnerable members of the extended WHO family safe - especially as we'll be keeping the doors closed this time! The main thing is to stay away if you have any symptoms that could be Covid. Inside the Barn, wearing a face mask, practising good hand-hygiene and giving each other space are non-negotiable requirements. We have hand sanitiser and spare masks available if you forget your own. Any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
The 'reviews' section in 'Slot Cars' was initially only expected to contain reviews of cars but, over time, it has attracted reviews of other slot related stuff. I have therefore moved the section and split it into two parts - 'cars' and 'other stuff'. Hopefully it should now be easier to find things you are interested in. You can find it HERE.
Morning all
Does anyone have any tips on how to remove headlight glass from a Scalextric car?
Car is question is a Maserati Trofeo that I want to strip and paint.
Glass looks like its hot welded in so is it just a case of chipping away with a knife/scalpel until its free?
Thanks
After the recent EIS Proxy, I have developed an itch for a couple of Ferrari 250 GTO's for using at home.
The plan is to get a nice body and replace the chassis and running gear.
The cars in the proxy were Fly, which looked great on their own, but when comparing to the 1:1 cars, look a little off.
They are available new still, but considering I would junk all the running gear, would work out an expensive conversion.
After some research, it appears the most accurate slot car version was made by Revel/Monogram, Albeit a different year/version to the Fly ones) but they are like rocking horse poop !
Next closest apparently are Pink Kar, allegedly these were a scaled down version of a Rev/Mono 1/24 kit, these I can find for not silly money, they do have a bit of that toy-ish look, but can look pretty nice with a little work. Does anyone have any any idea of the width and body+interior weight of the pink kars ?
Scalextric also made a few, but these are a little squared off, and quite expensive now.
There is also the option of Resin bodies if they a fairly recent mould with a reasonable weight.
Are there any other avenues of reasonably accurate, available and inexpensive 1/32 bodies anyone knows of ?
I would like to replace this large Truespeed plug with a thinner one plus I want to add to the cable length.
In my pic the truespeed wires are L =green/yellow R=Blue Earth=brown, the scalextric controller has red green and black wires.
Can someone please advise what wires connect to what when I join them up?
It is scalextrix analouge Sport track.
Thanks Tony
