Brian,

Now you've gone and done it. You opened up the can of puzzles.  Bigsmile My apologies in advance for the re-direct.

That's a very cool looking slot car puzzle! I've never seen it before.

My wife got me a puzzle for something to do (other than build slot cars) while on vacation. The cars are nice. But the puzzle pieces are insane/crazy/amazing shapes! I've never seen anything like this puzzle. Very cool for car buffs.

Hey, at least it's sports car related.  Thumbup

Long since loved and hankered after this livery, so delighted to finally have one.

Thought I would give the Policar entry level Subaru a try:

The red and yellow ones I wanted were out of stock at my usual suppliers but I found some at Dual Circuits,  a firm I hadn't come across before. Price was very competitive at £21.95 each less an extra discount for new customers so £41.40 plus shipping for the pair and they arrived next day, well packed. A pair of cars with Slot.It parts for less than the price of one Scalextric car, excellent value. Full interior and front lights as well, undecorated but impact resistant with rubber mirrors and windscreen wipers so ideal for inexperienced visitors. I will try them out in due course.

I bought a dark blue one, basic as they come, the motor doesn't have much in the way of brakes but they can go quite nicely.

I purchased 4 for a Club Class,  and find them excellent.

They are very even across all four lanes, and make for great racing. We use them at 10.5 volts, and have tried various race formats,  including no marshaling and step up Finals.   They are forgiving to drive, and really good for less experienced drivers.  No issues with any of them so far, so well pleased,  and as Brian pointed out,  Slot it parts in a decent chassis for an almost give away price.
Enjoy them  Thumbup

There's a new class at the club - F1 - but there's nothing to say what era.  Bigsmile

I know they won't be competitive being front motored, magless and with narrow, NARROW tyres - but I'd rather be having fun racing these than a modern F1. Being a used FB Marketplace purchase I got both for less than the price of one of the latest F1 cars - and apart from a little braid fraying they look like new.  Thumbup

I'll be removing the magnets, installing soft copper braid and adding weight if there's room. (I haven't had a look inside yet.) Other than that, a little lubrication and tyre truing all round, will be about the limit of race prep' I think?

I rather hope the Maserati will be the better of the two, looking quite a bit lower but I was surprised to find this and the Vanwall have identical wheelbases and very similar tracks, although the Vanwall's is very slightly wider at the rear.

We have separate races for older F1's/GP cars and F1's because the wider F1's knock you off the track
