Has anyone tried to remove the guts of a Scalextric Arc Pro controller and install it into a higher end controller, like a Professor Motor? 
 I am longing for a better controller that is not as costly as a Slot.It SCP3.

Unboxed some childhood toys. Got a Scalextric C1253 track set, but no cars.

Any guidance for a newbie here on what cars I can buy that will work on this?

By popular request SRC has reactivated their Peugeot 205 T16 moulds.
This resulted in the blue Peugeot 205 T16 EVO1 Chrono Gauloises Test Car.
It is a Chrono version of the French Group B car, which means it is intended for competition use.
The car weighs only 79.1 grams, because mud flaps and the roll cage have been omitted.
That is about 10 grams less than the more detailed Original version.
The inliner 17000 rpm 230 grcm M3/N motor drives the sprung rear axle. The sprung front axle is driven by pulleys and a belt.
Naturally, it has also a sprung guide.
You can apply decals of starting numbers and rally plates yourself as desired.
The same applies to the roof antenna and the lamp pod with lamp lenses.

On the circuit, the soft PAT Max100 tires bite into the road surface.
In combination with the high-quality components used in the four-wheel drive system, the Peugeot remains easily controllable even in the most extreme conditions.
My two SRC Chrono Porsches 914/6 were no match for the Peugeot. The Gauloises Peugeot was about 9% faster than both rear-wheel drive Porsches.
In summary, the new version of the 205 T16 is a very fast and winning car.

Another fun evening of racing was had by 8-racers at the Riverhampton Grand Prix Raceway.

After about an hour of casual practise time. The usual slot car delicacy, hot pizza, was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. 

The track is called the Riverhampton because the host lives near the Don river in Toronto.

   

Up first were the 50's/60's Boulevard Cruisers. An all scratch built class. 14k slow motors. Not your typical RTR slot car.

   
   

Then came another one of our favourite oldie classes. Pre-war streamliners. Another scratch-built class. Anything before 1939. 14k slim line slow motors only. Any gearing.

   
   

Up next were the 60's 1.5L GP cars. Once again most of these are scratch built cars. The chassis are made of brass, or aluminum, or popsicle sticks, etc.

   
   

The last class we raced was the RevoSlot GT class. Box-stock cars with urethane tires.

   
   

I'll work on some play-by-play action for the next race. I'm still not used to taking pics let alone race results.

Everyone had a blast! We put friendship first, racing is secondary.

It's not long to wait for a second Slot Rally club night - the WHO Autumn Stages

We're still awaiting final confirmation from the council's road department, but we are looking to run Friston Forest, Jupp's Farm, Titnore Lane (with or without roadworks) and the Ford Ice Rink. Sea Lane waits in reserve.

Doors open at 6.30pm and groups will rotate around the stages as we did last time. Entry is £3 (£2 under-16s) with club cars and controllers available.

I know this is a shot in the dark.

I'd like a 2000-livery Focus in my collection.  I've trawled the 'net and can't find a source of 1/32 decals.  The UK reference is 60500 for the no.5 Colin McRae version, or 60580 for the no.6 Carlos Sainz version - which came with a aux.lamp pod attached.  If you want an image, there are plenty on Google if you search SCX60500 or SCX60580.

I would settle for just a bodyshell, and if the Sainz/no.6 I wouldn't bother if the lamp pod is missing.
