Hello all,
I am looking for at least 4 of the eight-spoke wheels that are fitted to some of the Scalextric Jaguar XJ220 cars (in a golden finish). I know that the same wheels were fitted to some Ford Escort Cosworths, but finished in white. Somehow, I have two of these wheels finished in chrome.
Indeed in the 1:1 world this pattern of wheel was fitted to RS Escorts.
So...
Q1 - does anyone have any of the golden versions for sale?
Q2 - can anyone tell me what cars were fitted with the chrome versions?

Way back in the early 2000's, this was my ninco track track I built at that time. I subsequently moved to Belgium and of course it was torn down.
Not the greatest, but it was a huge learning curve for me. I stilll have all the buildings - kitbashed, orginals and copies, and some are being incorporated on the track I am currently building, however this one will not be nearly as 'busy' and far more 'railroad' type detail in the scenery, which is one of the directions I now want to take with this hobby. Fits in with my penchant for vintage as well.
I hope it is of some interest to you
hello everyone.
I was invited by woodcote to join.
I have been slot drag racing in all scales for 30+ years and have owned timed drag strips in several scales.
currently have a 1/64 scale 1/8 mile Wizzard track with Track Mate DP3000 timing system, soon to be extended to 1000 feet timed length.
I just sold my portable 1/64 scale 1/4 mile Maxx Traxx with DP 2000 timing a few months ago.
looking forward to learning from you folks and sharing what I know.
I have been involved in proxy drag racing as a host and racer for years and have sent cars to New Zealand.
I am hoping to enter some proxy races on your side of the pond soon too.
thank you for having me here.

Here is part two of the 1/32 scale Morgan build:
Any and all comments are more than welcomed!
Thanks

A new version of Ultimate Racer has just been released. It's very much a test version, with the aim of getting some feedback, so don't expect it to be anything like a finished product, and don't throw out your existing copy of UR just yet.
Quote:A test release of ultimate racer 4.0 layout editor is available to courageous testers at:
http://www.uracerweb.org/URProject/UR40LayoutTests.txt
Major feature changes between rev 3.0 and 4.0:
- full 3d layout editor
- new gui based on cad designers
- group object management, including track sections
- new track library editor with 3d scenery object attachment
- track section emf textures replaced by more realistic png image textures
- 3d track section extrusion replaced by algorithms keeping track section lengths unchanged
(and more...)
Heads up if you want one of the Triang-Scalextric bridge sections with the tin-plate sides. Rubber track so rails are tarnished but the sides look good.
Sale is nothing to do with me, just trying to help anyone who fancies one for display purposes.

Help please , it has most probably been asked before but I'll ask again , sponge ,or rubber tyres , what's best . I know it depends on the surface that you are racing on but I've just bought a couple of sets of rims with glued and trued tyres which says that they are good for wood tracks ,not tried them yet . Will they be better than soft rubber and do they last, ? Do you have to treat them like rubber ?. When I last used sponge tyres in the sixties you gooped them up also used silicon and rubber also treated with oil of wintergreen ,all this on a sandtex surfaced track .So back to the question , will sponge tyres perform on a wood track without any treatment as well as oiled rubber .
Many thanks, Steve
Here are two kits I have been working at getting into production...
The Maserati A6 is a rehash of a repop and the Mustang is a repop of a combination of two different bodies from two plastic kits.
You might recognise the Carrera driver and exhaust but the shell is not quite the same.

The Mustang is the Fox body fast back as raced by Dick Johnson at Bathurst in the early to mid eighties.....and these also raced in Europe although the grill was an egg crate grill available to modify if one wished to do so.

This is the innards of an obsolete Scalextric Powerbase C8217:
Could somebody who knows more about electronics than I do please explain the purpose of the various resistor doodahs?
Also, this one had the option of using two power supplies but the current versions will only accept one. Anybody know why this was changed?
I'm a slot car enthusiast (aren't we all
) who loves motor racing of all types. In my youth I raced motorcycles in the AFM series, until I went broke. I raced a Ducati 748. Then I switched to RC cars. Raced onroad, offroad, dirt oval, drifting competitions & Rock Crawling. The whole time still racing friends on my TYCo set.
Now I just ride motorcycles, & play with RC cars for fun. Gave away the TYCo stuff to a friends kids & moved up to 1/32 Carrera. Also recently Flee bay'd a Scalextric set & will be setting that up after hobby room remodel.
Other than that......my life is boring....
