Rather than pollute Chrisguyw's thread further, I thought it best to start a new one.

I noticed his rather useful looking jig which he informed me is a "Precision Slot Cars" 1/32 scratch builder metric.
It also has some square  "set-up wheels" for axle heights.

After a quick google, they are an American company, and so importing to the UK is going to mean import duties and the post office fees (what a rip off that is !)

My question is, does anyone know of a UK importer of these, or does anyone in UK or Europe make the something similar ?

FOR SALE.....
Ninco 8 lane power supply system.  Ideal for any Slot Car Clubs looking to upgrade, or perfect for using with a hire track.
Professionally built Gaugemaster GMC - UQ 8 lane variable voltage power system.
Features two Gaugemaster GMC -UQ four track panel controllers, with full variable voltage control on each lane between 0 - 100%. Like all professional power systems the GMC - UQ enables the track to be powered in both directions, so racing in both clockwise & anti clockwise directions.
All wiring is colour coded to each specific lane. Very simple to set up and use.

Currently set up for Ninco track, so complete with 8 Ninco transformers, and all wiring fitted with Ninco connectors. Includes four 4 plug extensions, just plug in and go!

This system is ideal for 4, 6 or 8 lane racing.
Could easily be split into 2 complete systems with very little work. If you only require a  4 lane system, keep one and sell one.

Comes fully working, ready to be used, and in its own storage crate.

Collection from near Guildford (Surrey), unless you wish to arrange your own Courier.
Obviously happy to show it all working, social distancing to be observed. Would cost £300 to build new.

£150 cash on collection or PayPal friends & family if it's collected by courier.

Message me if you have any questions.
Thanks.

Does anyone have links to where these might be ?

I have just gone through all the parts in the 512BB kit and some of the placement/orientation/parts are not obvious to me as yet.

1/43 Little Monte Carlo Rally Proxy and Covid-19! A question.

Ok, I plan to start The 2020 1/43 Little Monte Carlo Rally Proxy on the weekend of July 19th 2020., just under 5 weeks from now!

A question to all of you who are intending to send cars:

I have heard of delays in international parcels, so should we go ahead on 19th July or should we put it back until a similar date in August?

Your thoughts please!

Regards, Lloyd.

Wavegreen
Hello! My name is Pip, and I am a new edition to SlotRacer online.
Like 99% of us my interest in Scalextric started with Christmas presents as a little lad. First up C547 Superspeed, then C662 Super Stox. The second  set got enlarged, and mounted on a big sheet of chip board, which annoyed the hell out of my Mum when it was stood up against the wall in the lounge!   Many happy evenings followed racing against my Dad.
Fast forward to 2003 and Dad got me Roger Gillhams great Scalextric guide book, again for Christmas. Funny how things go around. I couldn't believe the detail of the cars, so straight out and purchased the German Grand Prix set (Maserati 250F/Vanwall). Quickly followed by the Bash n Crash figure 8 set, much more fun for my little girl.
After retiring from racing Stock Cars with both Spedeworth and P.R.I.over a 14 year period the slot car thing really got going. Mainly collecting to the theme of the Goodwood Revival, but lots of off shoots as well.
I am now fortunate to have a hobby room at home, with two 4 lane analogue layouts. One Routed, one painted Scalextric Sport track. We have our own club, race once a month for fun, and get about 10 racers most of the time. All friends, and their friends.
I regularly go to Swindon & Havant swap meets, and Gaydon of course.
That's me ?

After a very successful first event (report here), HO proxy drag racing is returning to the South Coast on Tuesday & Wednesday 7-8 July for more Eighth Mile mail-in melodrama...

Qualifying is Tuesday and then the Eliminators are Wednesday evening with coverage here on SlotRacer Online.

There are more details about the monthly proxy drag racing series here: https://slotracer.online/community/showt...p?tid=1256

We will be running three classes:

  • Micro Scalextric Street Stock - regs here.
  • Micro Scalextric Super Stock - regs here.
  • T-Jet Nostalgia Super Stock - regs here.

We'll also continue with the Nostalgia Funny Car match-racing, so if you have an Auto World 'Legends of the Quarter Mile' 4-Gear Funny Car - or an old AFX speciality Funny Car - send it in. The match-race chassis will need to be 100% stock - apart from adding braid to the pick-ups (I can do this, if you prefer) and replacement slip-on rear tyres.

The Track: The Rock County Eighth Mile is a seven foot timed strip (1/8 mile in true HO scale) made from the new 2019 Micro Scalextric sectional track. Cars must be fitted with braids to run on this track. Power for the first event is 12 volts, 4 amps per lane. Power to both lanes is triggered by a single switch firing a 2-channel relay board. Timing is Trackmate Drag Basic. There is a two-foot shutdown with dynamic braking and a well-padded catch box.

Sending cars: Aim for your cars to arrive in Brighton by the previous Saturday (4 July) so they can be quarantined and then registered for qualifying on Tuesday. Please also pack in a small box (max height 7.5cm) and pay for your postage online so no-one needs to go near a post office. These races are designed to be full-on social distancing events that are accessible even to those shielding at home.

How to enter: Add a reply with your interest and the classes you'll be entering - one car per class per person. Family members and friends are very welcome to enter too. I will message  you with the address to send cars to. You will need to pay for return postage. Otherwise there is no race fee.

Entries - Race Two - July 7 & 8

Micro Scalextric Street Stock: Andy Pla, Rebecca, Doug, David, Noah, Dylan P, Jeremy, Jane, Alan, Clive, Leo, Terry, Louise, Iain, Jason C, Rosie, Sarah, Beth, Jerome, Peter, Andy Phi, Gareth, Dylan W (23)

Micro Scalextric Super Stock: Andy Pla, Rebecca, Alan, Clive, Iain, Andy Phi, Leo (7)

T-Jet Nostalgia Super Stock: Andy Pla, Rebecca, Doug, Noah, Dylan P, Alan, Clive, Gareth, David (9)

4-Gear Funny Car match racing: Rebecca ("Cha Cha" Muldowney Ford Mustang), Doug ("Blue Max" Ford Mustang), Clive ("King Cobra" Ford Mustang), Iain (AFX Chevy Vega), David ("King Fish" Cuda), Alan (Chevy C-10 Pro Mod)

...is it motorsport?

Something to watch anyway.

Looks good, but the in depth analysis is difficult to take seriously in my mind.
