Once again I enter the project hoping for a home run, and fall short due to lack of skill.
These join most of my other projects as 20/20 jobs .... they look OK going 20mph from 20 ft away  Bigsmile

I decided against the wing from the off, preferring to just keep the "ducktail" style rear end.
I know the group 5 Escorts ran 16 inch wheels IRL, but just because I wanted to, I went for scale 14 inch wheels with higher profile tyres.

"Wraith" (Colin) of "C and C design" printed the decals from my design.

Has anybody got 6 of these lying about they don't need please?

Several on eBay for silly money but nothing at a sensible price. Broken/missing fixing pins perfectly acceptable as I will be cutting them off anyway.

Resin 3D printed highly modified Mini Cooper, pod and crew.

Carbon fibre reinforced PETG 3D printed chassis.

Two tone paint, metallic copper then a light spray at the front of metallic gold, it has a slight 'flip paint' effect. Molotow chrome highlights. All covered with two airbrushed layers of Vellejo lacquer.

...rear wheels/tyres are temporary, I'd really like to fit some NSR Special Blacks on smaller diameter wheels. Wheel inserts to be found/modified/resin 3DP.
Front axle will be split and independently rotating axles (it currently has one free spinning wheel captivated by a washer and short piece of brass tube soldered on the end).

This is the third one I've printed, the first was a bit of a disaster which needed a hole in the roof patching and I never got past the all black paint job.
The second was printed for a club mate about a year ago and was flying last week in our Minis & Mustangs race so I decided to revisit the body and tweak the chassis design a little.

Currently it's NSR Shark 25 powered, geared at 8/23 and should be a little rocket.

A recent addition to the spectators on my track is Mr W. Shakespeare:

I know he died several hundred years ago but he joins a number of other famous people watching the racing - the Blues Brothers, the Stig, Daisy Duke, Uncle Jesse, Scott and Virgil Tracy, Superman and Batman to name but a few.

As this is my own little fantasy world I can do whatever daft things I like but I did wonder if I was alone in adding celebs to the mix.

Anybody else got some famous faces amongst their spectators?

Any no-mag Legends racers out there able to tell me where to add weight please?

I have no opportunity/facility to track test between meetings.

Cars are stock, on stock but trued (Tyre Razor) wheels and tyres, run as a Club IROC class.

I am limited to 5 and 10gm self adhesive 1:1 car wheel weights so I'm thinking a single 5gm weight as central as possible? Being rectangular should the weight run inline, or across the chassis? Transverse and nearer the rear for improved traction, or nearer the front to load the guide?

Any thoughts?

(We have used them successfully without weight but general concensus seems to be try adding weight.)

Hi, I'm a bit confused by sloting plus's description

Sloting Plus Combi Axle Tube 29.9mm 1x for use with Porsche 997 Ninco, Porsche and Corvette NSR. Previous Ref No: (SP053102)

Or

Sloting Plus Combi Axle Tube 31.0mm. 1x for use with Mosler, Megane, Lexus, Supra and NSX Ninco and Mosler NSR. Previous Ref No: (SLPL-1010)

As I thought the mount was the same for all NSR gt3 and the mosler?  I guess one is for the old rectangle mount and one is for the triangle mount. I only have a triangle mount to measure and tempted to say the shorter one would be right but does anyone know?

Thanks

I have been testing some nsr shark 20k/21.5k motors for the Wales and West races and I have one 21.5k motor in my batch that is fairly quick but vibrates noticibly more than the other motors. Is there anything I can do to smooth it out, I don't really want to throw out a quick motor at £15 a pop but it vibrates so much I'm sure it won't be very driveable. The w&w rules mean I can't open the can.
