I have a broken chassis that has a guide in place and a good chassis with no guide in place but cannot work out how to remove the guide and transfer it.
I have managed remove and replace the braid so that aspect is not a problem.
If you can explain the difference between a Type 1 guide and the Type 2 that would be useful but I am pretty sure the donor chassis is a Type 1.

I have 3 sets of Boxed Scalextric (untested recently) , from the late 1980-1995 period that were stored before in the previous house loft attic,
One 24hr Le-Mans set and two Formula One Racing boxed sets.

Le Mans   C.742
F1    C.1035
F1 Megasound  C.625

It seems a real shame to just take them down to the local recycling centre/rubbish tip.
I was wondering if there were any suggestions for a club or society that would like them as a donation,
Obviously they would have to collect from me here in Southampton, as i will not be looking to post the sets.
Thanks
Stuart, Southampton.

I love the WEC at the moment, so am trying to build up a grid. I thus bought 2 Scaleauto kits and the Scaleauto BMW.

So what change of heart am I talking about! With NO malice at the superb work done by the home printing suppliers, the cost of the body, parts and decals are higher than the current cost of the superb Spanish suppliers. I just cannot see my way forward in future to not buy these complete kits-

The Lambo and Alpine are on my bench at the moment

I purchased a starter set with analog cars.  It is for a STEM project with timers and lap counters.  I need the 2 cars to run at almost the same speed.  Putting both cars on the same lane, one is obviously faster.  How can I change the speed without buying a bunch of new parts?  Is adding weight to the faster car the easiest solution?

Thanks very much. Checkeredflag]]>

It is a Scaley/SCX Chaparral 2E, that he wanted to be made to look and run a bit better, which was not that hard  Bigsmile.

The starting point,.......this is not the actual car (this is a shot stolen from "Images"),...the actual car was a bit worse for wear.

It is a "Clamshell" design, which is generally not an issue, but, on this car there are slots molded into the upper/lower bodywork, which hold the rear end detail, and these all had to be ground away in order that the bits could be re installed, once the top/bottom body bits were glued.

Here is the dismantled car,................

I started with the chassis (the easiest part for me), and a single rail (.047) chassis was built,...it has a softish torsional flex, and handles very well with its 18K motor.

And the finished rolling chassis,..............

After way too much grinding/sanding/painting, and several bits made/added, I ended up with this.

The mesh on all the intakes/vents is from a Dollar store strainer,......looks a ton better than the stock plastic molded bits.

Dropped in a massive brushless system and other parts and it's down to 71.8g  40/60 weight bias from and 50/50 lr. First build set a track record pretty easy with a old tune on the esc for a another car.

Stock I wasn't really impressed with it. Power and speed was definitely lacking. Found the car to handle pretty well due to the better than normal weight bias but still found that if it did get squirrely it would snap pretty hard when it corrected. Now its pretty fast. Excessive amounts of torque and handles great.
