Global GT Challenge Proxy - Official Results

I had a look at my Revoslot Marcos today, and it was impossible to get the motor secured without adding some washers to the motor mount screws. Also one of the motor mount screws sheared off when I tried tightening it, so had an interesting time trying to recover the thread out of the motor mount  Tappingfoot
I have replaced the screw although it seems to me still misaligned now in the mount. But if feels secure, and the car appears to be running a whole lot better.

Screws do seem to be the weak point on a Revo.

This had been an ongoing concern at our club.  We have seen them stuck, difficult to keep tight, broken or heads stripped, pretty much any issue you can imagine.

Still love these little guys, but the screws could be improved.

The cars were collected this morning, now on their way down South to the Viking Club.

Another option is shorten the screw

I think it is the motor mount part where the internal thread is damaged, perhaps it is why the original screw head sheared off. I ordered a replacement motor mount which arrived today just after the cars had been collected by DHL. So I can’t change it now, but hopefully the car is good enough for the Viking Round. I will then look to change it over before the 3rd round.

Graham

Are you going to show the ranking the cars by GT1, GT2 and Gp3? That's who I thought my cars would be competing against.

I love puttering with gears
