Hello Bowley,..........I have replaced many "longcan" motors in the Scaleauto RT3 (and other) anglewinder pods with "S" can motors, and, there is no need to use any sort of adapter. I have done this for club members, customers, and several proxy cars (proxy winners),...with zero issues whatsoever.
Use machine screws through the pod bulkhead and into the can,.....if you are concerned (no need to be) you can use a drop of shoegoo etc. on the endbell end where it touches
the edges of the pod cradle.
Since the mid 60's, motors (much more powerful than those used in our current plastic toy cars) have been secured to the chassis using screws or soldering, securing only the can end of the motor to the motor bracket/bulkhead.
Cheers

I've lost count of the number of times someone has asked how to fit a short motor in a long mount...isn't it obvious?

Adapters can be sourced from many suppliers.
You could also print your own on a 3d printer.

Adapters improve rigidity and avoid having to glue the motor in.
Useful for endurance events

I suppose it should have been obvious. But I've fallen for that before & realised, oh sh1t that isn't as obvious as I thought. Once bitten twice shy. Thanx everybody.
