Twelve months ago this month, on August 3rd, the B St E club's feature race was for owner/driver rally cars.

The track was tough .....

... but the guys were up for it.  Thumbup

A great class made for a very competitive and colourful grid   Checkeredflag

"Grandad, what did you do in the olden days?"

Well, in the dim and distant past, before Covid had ever been heard of I vaguely remember ........

SLOT RACING!  Wrench Ah yes, it's all coming back to me. B St E slot car club. Life was much more colourful then. It seems like only yesterday ......

... but it must be, Oh? A year ago? When we raced club Gp5's, Karts ......

.... and American Muscle/NASCAR's.

Ah yes, those were the days  Sun

On October 20th it'll be a year since my last B St E slot meeting.

It all seems a bit ......

... NEGATIVE really.

I could get a bit cut up about it all I suppose .....

..... but trying to put a POSITIVE spin on all this Covid stuff .....

... it really WAS great fun.

So much so, I bought a couple of bikes for myself!

Maybe next year, eh lads?

Trying to remember November 2019 and looking back through the mists of time, things were a bit blurred.

Time to break out the old crystal ball and see if things get a bit clearer.

Ah, yes. A picture of concentration.

That's cleared things up a bit. I remember now.

I wasn't there - but WAS sent some great photos of the track action - to put me in the frame!

Sorry. Really contrived and corny stuff - but hey, it's better than nothing  Thumbup

On January 4th 2020, a Saturday night a year ago today, the B St E club saw the highest attendance for some considerable time - and since.

Fourteen turned out for a night of club racing, spurred on by Mark J's birthday and the promise of CAKE!

A mixed programme of Trucks, Karts, Gp5 cars, tea and of course - Cake - kept them all entertained into the wee small hours.

Will we ever see the likes again? Fingers crossed, some day - but soon? Thumbup
