Today I received my first purchase (less than 150 euros) from the UK to the Netherlands.
It only took one day to arrive in the Netherlands (thanks Pendle Slot Racing).
Then it took a week before I got a message about payment of tax, which I paid the same day.
Before Brexit, it took about five days for an order to arrive, now it took fifteen days.
The supplier delivered the package excluding VAT (20% in the UK and 21% in the Netherlands).
I had to pay 2.95 euros extra to the package deliverer for the administration they did and the VAT difference of 1%.
(Above 150 Euro the import costs for toys are 0%-4.6%).
Conclusion:
Given the excellent service and the extensive range, I will continue to order in the UK.

Only 2.85 Euro for the delivery company admin is pretty good. In the UK, Royal Mail charge a minumum of 8 GB Pounds (9.4 Euro).
Pendle Slot Racing have certainly adapted quickly to the export game.
Buying from EU businesses at the moment generally means paying tax in the supplier's country and then again in the UK. Thank goodness Pendle are UK based or the slot-car scene in the UK might dry up.

"If you don't pay your club fees, you don't get the club benefits."
That's what the club committee said.
That's why they formed a club.
Let's go...OFF ROAD!

Jeremy has summed up the situation neatly and avoided any political comments, lets keep things that way.

From what I have read the "free-trade" agreement does not exclude VAT.
It just excludes additional tariffs.
One issue that flared up in the Spring but has died down a bit was items were being taxed and tariffed if there was no proof that they had actually been produced in the UK. Anything not marked as "made in UK" was being treated as if ti had come from whatever country it was made in (98.958926% of the time China) so tariffs were applied on top of local VAT.
That seems to have subsided a bit.
There was a mention on the BBC of there being a "transition period" until October while things were sorted out but I didn't get all the details.
There is a thread on here already I think where the BBC looked at how things are going 6 months on. Relatively well balanced IMHO.
