1/25 '69 Corvair
#1

I bought a Corvair kit years before I was into slot cars. I built it up as an unpainted static model. It sat on a shelf collecting dust.

Then I figured out how to paint.

I made a scratch built chassis, and installed the body.

The "Red Rocket" will race tomorrow. I will also pick up a new driver for this car at the same time.

Thank you very kindy for looking.
Ken

IFrank Gardiner built a Chev Corvair to run in the Australian Sports Sedan Championship and he and later on Allan Grice dominated the championship with it.

I spy with my Corvair eye... a true and real "Stinger". It has the special filled in rear window pillars, and small rear/side glass.   Checkeredflag

Very nice pic, Kevan.  Thumbup

Did some googling this morning, it was Gary Eaton / Carolyn Eaton, Chevrolet Corvair during the 'Press on Regardless Rally' on November 02, 1972.

A bit more info:

Press On Regardless (POR) is a road rally organized by the Detroit Region of the Sports Car Club of America.

The Press On Regardless was first run in 1949 as a Time-Speed-Distance rally. In 1969, the POR became a stage rally. In 1972, the event was part of the International Championship for Manufacturers and then in 1973 and 1974 part of the World Rally Championship.
