The BBC
#11

The only thing I sneak a look at on web TV is the Repair Shop as it sort of fits the stuff I do and my outlook on life. I look at the rest of the schedules and despair that this is really what fills up people's time.

Fortunately, radio is available on-line with a Mac widget that saves me having to visit the BBC website. It's just a shame that the sound is so dire, being compressed to hell and dull as ditchwater. Even on headphones it's a struggle sometimes, even with proper BBC accents! As for the music on radio 3......I do miss FM.

I really like the Repair Shop ,a lot of people with a lot of talent , except Jay Blade who never seems to do anything !!!.I have TV and Sky and Netflix Etc etc and spend many an evening going through 100 plus channels trying to find something interesting to watch normally without any such luck ,so go and play cars instead !!

So, just out of interest who would be your go to source for unbiased reporting?

You know what, I actually don't know. I suspect a lot of the news channels will lean toward a story one way or another, generally I tend to read between the lines of most "news" reports.
I didn't mention specifics, as I don't want to start a political debate  Bigsmile

As regard the programming, yes still the odd gem, (I too enjoy "the repair shop"), but a unfortunately a lot of it now is so OTT PC or "Reality TV" nonsense.
That's fine if that's what they want to broadcast, but the TV licence fee is an outdated concept, it's time the BBC dropped it and funded themselves rather than forcing payment from anyone who watches any kind of live TV.  Tappingfoot

Living in Belgium - to get english speaking tv - we have sky!

Regarding British news - I no long watch listen or in any other way ingest it - so sick and tired of the rubbish - true or not, that I cannot watch it anymore.

only found out the other day that we still have no government here, and they all went on holiday cos it was August.

You know what - it still works. I still got my new id and passport - however much we are depricated here - it all still works.

Dont get me started on Brit sport reporting -sheeesh that is even more biased than the news....

Whats even worse - I am a Brit.... now that I have shared that earth shattering news - carry on!!

So, I mean, BBC Sport refer to Alex Albon as the British-Thai driver but never refer to Lewis Hamilton as the American-British driver.
Albon races on a Thai competition licence, hence the related flag and anthem if he ever wins a race.

Which BBC commentators are you referring to?

The only sports commentary I've listened to on the beeb recently is Test Match Special, which is very even handed, and always has representation from both sides.
