I'm quite partial to the British Airways version but never got one. My all-time favourite Mk2 livery is the plain Ford Motorsport version from 1977. Before SCX produced their Mk2 I assembled one from a resin body. As far as I know, no slot-car manufacturer has yet produced this livery.

Very nice, Leo.

SCX should have done that version.

The mud versions give an extra realistic effect on the track.
I have two of them. As far as I know there is also a third mud version, that of Roger Clark's Daily Express sponsored RAC Rally 1977 Escort.
Are there any other mud versions of the SCX Escort?

Here is a photo of Roger Clark's Daily Express sponsored RAC Rally 1977 "clean" SCX Escort.
After his win last year, he finished the event in 4th.
The Allied Polymer sponsored Escort is the winning car of the 1975 RAC Rally, driven byTimo Mäkinen.
That year he won the event for the third consecutive time.

That sounds very realistic. The factory teams also stripped down their cars after each event.

I kept it simple by using white wall paint:

After eight classic versions of the SCX Escort MK2, there is one more modern version left; that of Colin McRae, 2007 Manx National Rally.
He didn't finish the event due to mechanical problems.

Nice! And I like the look of those track borders. What are they made of?

They are made of mdf. It was a lot of work to adapt them to the shape of the track.
Mdf track borders and some SCX Escorts MK2.
