Software
#20

I've just found a company called Artcraft who produce a range of free, open source, cross platform apps.

There are 12 of them at the moment, covering image editing, vector illustration, video, photography, PDFs, motion graphics, page layout, word processing, audio, presentations, CAD and spreadsheets.

Unlike the older established open source alternatives, like GIMP and Inkscape which have gone there own way for many years, the ArtCraft apps are very, very similar to existing commercial software. Adobe and Microsoft will not be happy, but existing users of their products will probably find themselves in remarkably familiar territory.

I was initially quite sceptical, but having tried out PhotoCraft (a Photoshop clone) and EffectCraft (Aftereffects clone), they seem very good.
