@ Hub and Carver - your comments are really appreciated as I can only aspire to what you guys do !!
I found the following in our local art shop :
I have watched a couple of model railway scenery 'how to's ' and their mixture of colours is just amazing .
I am not happy with my colour finish as it stands at the minute - it is not yellow enough to mirror reality but when I tried more yellow - i didnt like that either and covered with some brown. RSA is very yellow/brown in Autumn. I will need to download pictures of the track today and then try again after doing pictoral comparisons.
Current look:
In another view - you can see the current look of the track after some painting over the plaster covering of the cracks in the track joints:
BUT.......
I then found this :
and tried it on another part of the track. Joints not perfectly applied at this test stage - but once dry it has a 'sandy' feel and effect. Will now use this on all the joints I want to cover .
This I have realised is no short term project - this will last at least through the winter . Hope you all have patience
