Can you inch the Sedan years back to 1950?

Probably just a coincidence but I think the Showdown “Sportsman Class” start date of 1954 might have been based on the first Revell model of a Hot Rod model kit in 1954 ( sold as Revell Highway Pioneers series of Hot Rods for juniors) ??

Anyway I am now thinking the “Hotrods” could form part of of a 3 Event Proxy for American Sedans which would include Nascars, Trans Am and Hotrods. Possibly to be called “ Racing American Sedans”

However still at an early stage of development, so don’t go planning any models as yet.

So am I running a 69 lowered Charger, GTO, Chevelle SS  or am I running a TA Mustang, Cuda or a V3.0of a Camaro?  We have had several opportunities to run TA cars recently and if we are running hot rods run hot rods.

I was thinking to run a “Hot Rod only Proxy” as I think it had an appeal as a stand alone theme (like the Raid proxies which I have previously run) but I am not really confident that we would raise enough interest for it to work alone, whereas if I combine it into one proxy as part of a general theme (ie “Racing American Sedans”) I can see more scope for attracting a wider audience.
So Nascars would form one Event, Trans Am another, and with HotRod sedans as a third to make 3 Events featuring American Sedans.

In regard to the Trans Am Event I am thinking to arrange this differently from the recent ones I seen.

And the entire proxy with the 3 Events included would not be until after next years Racing the 60”s has been completed.

I have changed the title of the proxy to reflect the change in direction towards a more inclusive proxy
