I had a db5 body shell that would have made a perfect mod Sport.
I am not asking for exact match, but yes in period colours. I would be upset to see a modern day livery on a historic model. But the modifications must be the same as the actual model and in proportion. Really wide wheel arches which are not evident on the photo of the actual car might be refused entry or at least incur a penalty.

Thanks Graham. Good to get these details sorted now.

Any chance either of the Pendle Mabuchi 20k motors would be allowed?
Not too powerful, but more available than any of the others on the list...
I love puttering with gears

I will think about that, the reason I choose 18K was that they are more likely to be closer match to each other than the higher RPM motors which tend to have a higher torque variation. And they are close to that of the standard RTR car motors, so competition between standard RTR cars and those with alternative equivalent RPM motors should be closer (at least that's my theory). Some techno expert is bound to come on here now and contradict me
On the otherhand in all honesty from my experience of running these proxy's the RPM does not really contribute that much in terms of a successful running car, it only plays a minor role in the overall performance of the running car unless the RPM is wildly different.
So the standard Scalextric 18k motor has around100 gm_cm Torque
Predator S-Can 18k rpm is 120gm_cm
Predator slimline 18k rpm is 90gm_cm
Pioneer S-Can 18k is 160gm_cm
H&W S-Can 18k motor is 140gm_cm
But if you go to a Scaleauto Tech1 20K rpm motor its 216gm_ cm

Whilst waiting for the current Proxy issue to resolve itself, I have been contemplating again what we might do for the 2nd Proxy next year.
I have previously have taken a Entrants vote on a choice of Options or Themes. And I am again thinking this might be an option to select a subject for Autumn 24.
However I do really want to make it primarily a Classic car based Proxy.
I have thought perhaps our Admin Guru Jason could be persuaded to generate an online voting spreadsheet similar to the google based sheets we been using, or maybe the old fashioned direct email approach. I am really not sure at this point.
Perhaps some feedback might put me on the right track......

Hi Graham,
Good looking set of ideas.
Option 3 is my choice, followed by Option 1.
I have just finished putting together a new Scalextric Sport 4 lane layout, and would be very happy to host and participate.
Thanks,
Pip

1st choice - Option 2 - Classic Road Race
The one that jumped out at me and something I've recently suggested for next year for out club is a Targa Florio class, with some good options...SlotIt Ferrari 312PB, I've driven one round our Rally tracks and it was wonderful!!
Carrera Panamericana is another in this option I like and could build something interesting for that.
2nd choice - Option 1 - Classic Race
An interesting mix, it would be great to drive a load of classic Grand Prix cars on our track, we have a GP class and regularly see pre-war cars built to CSCRA regs.
Life is like a box of Slot cars...

I'm not really familiar with what cars raced in all of these, so I'm just happy to go with whatever is picked.

tbh im not overly enthused with these event type proxies
if you pick the correct class , even with a bad car you can aquire a lot of points
probably thats because i always seam to pick the wrong class
would much rather a one class one event proxy
but thats just me
this does not take away from the full commitment from the hosts and organiser which are invaluable
