Yup it’s all about the phone, ten of thousands of very useful functions that generally make things easier …..with caveats. Yes it’s funnelling the worlds commerce and communication through servers that could be compromised. The mind boggles.

The bright side though. I can update the firmware on my car decoders in 20 seconds, use as a level at work and get weather updates regularly. And a million other amazing tasks.


As a slot enthusiast and developer it opens up exciting new avenues. Too many to list here. 

In fact the DEVICE is that important we made every Scorpius project since 2019 device compatible ie a Bluetooth chip in the car. This is used for updates and configurations.

The issue is the commonly used Nordic radio chips, even though they can transceive both 2.4GHz proprietary and Bluetooth formats, they can’t do both simultaneously.

So yeah it’s that important we are going to add a second radio chip that is dedicated to talking to the device only whilst the 2.4Ghz proprietary signal is purely for car control.
However it opens up a driver interface that can essentially be a on screen copy of an F1 cockpit along with a Bluetooth headset that can be used for getting RMS updates like fuel, laps, driver changeover, the list is endless.


So two sides to coin for sure.
