Lotus 30 and 40
#1

I think for me the most iconic slotcar of the 60's is thr Cox Lotus 40. I can remember absolutely lusting after it as a kid but we could not afford it. It took me 55 years before I got around to buying one. In fact there are now 3 Sun .

I was very very lucky in actually getting all the parts and the car to make the 30, which was the earlier version.

Beautiful model as is the original. Brings back bad memories of a simulator challenge I took part in at the tail end of last year using that car around Hockenheim Short. It understeers like a boat, too much power out of a corner is an instant spin, brake too hard well that's a spin. And it pitches and rolls so much that driving it in virtual reality gave me severe motion sickness!

It certainly gave me a new appreciation of the talents of the drivers of old.

Beautiful car.  I've always been partial to the Russkit version.
