RE: Southend Slot Racing Club -
autoavia - 15th-Dec-21
Due to the current situation with Coronavirus it has been agreed that we will suspend racing until the New Year. As soon as I have details of our first meeting of 2022 I will post them here.
In the meantime thanks to those of you who have taken the time to read the club posts this year and best wishes for a Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year from everyone at SSRC.
Let's hope things improve for 2022 and we can get back to enjoying our regular club nights and maybe we will finally get to hold the NASCAR 600 in the New Year that has been postponed several times during 2021.

Our first meeting of 2023 will be tonight when we will be racing
1/24 Minis and Slotit Group C
Masks or visors must be worn and everyone is asked to take a lateral flow test on the day of racing.
Due to the situation with Coronavirus we regret that we are unable to accept new members at the moment.
Planned club nights for the rest of the year can be found on the club website

Apologies for not keeping this thread up to date but my partner had been unwell for along time and she passed away 5 weeks ago so I have had other priorities.
Tonight we will be racing Scratchbuilt Saloons and Modified GT
Next Tuesday 1st March 2022 we will be racing
Formula One 1961-1985 and Modified NASCAR
Following the AGM we have dropped the SCX DTM class and Ninco Classics as it was becoming difficult to get spares for the cars. They have been replaced by NSR F1 and Scratchbuilt Pre 1967 Front Engined Sports/GT class based on CSCRA regs with a 25000 rpm limit on motors and there have been some changes to the regulations for other classes, all of which can be found in the link below.

Southend Slot Racing Club (southendslotclub.co.uk)
Practice on race nights from around 6pm and racing starts at 7.30pm
We are also hoping to hold regular Sunday practice sessions about once a month this year so if you are thinking of joining you may prefer to come along to a practice session first rather than jumping in at the deep end on a race night

Thanks for the messages above. it is very strange after 27 years to be on your own in an empty house. We all complain from time to time about our partners/wives but they do leave a very big hole when they are gone.
