It is to some extent perception based, I am sure it is probably not so much an overwhelming influence compared to tyres and weight distribution etc, but once you become aware of it, it is difficult not to take account of the motor effects. Normally we run 50/50 wood versus plastic tracks. But I think Rally style we are more likely to have a greater number of plastic tracks.

Taking a moment to revise the Draft rules for the Classic Road Race proxy spring 25
[attachment=35085]
I feel that the "Road Race" is essentially a Rally type of proxy and that a more homogenous or common set of rules should prevail across all the events.
So the main changes are:
1) Wheels/Tyres Min Diam -To scale for the car being modelled across all 3 events
2) maximum tyre width across all 3 events is 10mm.

Good Morning,
I have an idea to make the
Classic RoadRace proxy next year an "in line motor orientation" across all events, along the lines of the "National Rally rules", so my question would be how reasonable would be that to those who perhaps are already contemplating their entries ? This would be to have a fairer competition for the diverse range of different models. Also I would be intending to place all the 70's GT Cars in with the Prototypes of the Targo Florio Event models.
Autumn Proxy 25 choices
Additionally looking further ahead to the final proxy of next year, I have changed the format of the proposal as below. The reason being that I always like to be inclusive with the proxy's ( standard cars, modified, 3d chassis and procars and now Revoslots ) as I feel this would be more inclusive. And therefore we would have a Winner Award for each of the 2 or 3 Groups or Classes of cars in each event, but no runners up awards.

I had to read that 2 or 3 times.
A suggestion for the Trans Am cars to reflect the different engine sizes:
U. 2 litre - Goodwood Revival Proxy event 1-3 motors only
2-2.5 litre - Goodwood Revival Proxy event 2 motors only
O 2.5 litre - Goodwood Revival Proxy any motor from the complete list

When I wrote 23k rpm, I was referring to a maximum permitted. The motors in all 3 Events being the Short Can type only.

Yes I understand that but what about my suggestion? i.e. to use your motor list for the Goodwood Revival Proxy to reflect the different era Trans Ams.

I don’t think a 911S can compete against a 70 Camaro, but a fair match against 510, U2.0, U2.7 and over2.7 is a lot. Maybe U2.7 and O2.7 and Muscle car class. Additionally, you’re looking at a ride height probably around 1.3mm with trued tires on Revoslot Group2 cars. And remember G2 Revoslot cars are having trouble holding S can motors without modifications. FK motor works well for them.

I think I am missing the point of your suggestion, but I think then it is for the Full Goodwood motor list motor for both under 2.0L and over 2.5L but just long Can motors for 2.0L Event ?
Obviously the Goodwood Event 1 is specifically for max 18k rpm motors, but I don’t think this would work for the U 2.0l trans am Event.

Going back to your post Graham regarding options, my choice would be Option 2 Trans Am mainly because we're already running a GT proxy at the moment with GT1's so fancy a change.
...I love the idea of a Group C/LMP/LMH event though, a Le Mans special?
Twice a year we have a Le Manx (Le Mans with a Manx twist) night, two different eras on the night, Classics in the first era Group C/LMP in the other, both are great fun but the Gr.C/LMP is surprisingly quick racing.
