pioneer legends - fireman - 12th-Feb-23

Good day.
i have a few pioneer legends.
I drive 1 car for a while.
I have problem with the sliders.
they fall out. the copper wires.
and the sliders it self is very weak.
does anyone have a solution for that

Hi Fireman,

Slider = guide?

Do you mean the "motor wire leads" fall out of the "brass eyelets" in the guide?

If so, check this thread out.

A pic would really help understand what you mean.

Thanks,
Ken

By sliders I think he means the track contacts/braids.

There is a 'right way up' to install them so if they're falling out easily try them the other way up.

it is about this .
this is so soft.
sometimes it just falls out

I might try a retaining ring on the top of the guide post. Buy the correct size, snap it on, and it won't fall out unless you take it out.

Available at most industrial hardware stores.

RE: pioneer legends - OXO cube - 22nd-Feb-23

have seen somewhere people use a 2mm grub screw
inserted into the split section of the guide post to splay the post out a little
open the car , place the guide post into the chassis , insert the grub screw and tighten until secure , replace car body
obviously don't screw it in too deep to prevent the guide from turning , but enough to secure it in the chassis
that is if i understand your problem correctly

hope this helps

RE: pioneer legends - Kevan - 23rd-Feb-23

I think he's referring to how the wire and braid are held in, much like the BSCRA cars setup.  I've never seen one but if it's like this you need to tweak the brass strip to open it up a little so it's much tighter in the guide holes...or a dap of superglue  Thumbup

Ken appears to be on the right track and it's the guide flag he's having trouble with, not the braids.

Think I'll have to find myself some of those fasteners too.

Look really useful.
