  Coop

Hi all,

So this is what modern forum software feels like...

Coop here, known as Coopdevil on the other place.

Don't race these days (mostly mucking about with very slow radio control crawlers, and a new interest in RC boating) but still maintain an interest in what's going on in the slotcar world.

Hi and welcome to the MrD Slot Drag Racing Club. After I was introduced to Slot Drag Racing at the UK Slot Rally GB in September 2006, I was hooked on this exciting form of slot car racing. I have helped organise events and promote the hobby of scale Slot Drag Racing in the UK ever since. Of course, I've had a lot of help along the way from the people at MrC (Medway Rod and Custom Club) and several others. In an effort to gain knowledge and experience, I've raced, with my Son Matt, in Malta, Germany and France, making valuable friends along the way.

I finished building the MrD Slot Drag Racing track in January 2011, with help from the members of the Rebel Rousers Hot Rod Club and MrC.  Since then I've held many club meetings in Chelmsford, Essex, Hoo and Higham in Kent.

We start racing in October, race twice a month over the winter and finish in April. Regular meetings are held in Chelmsford Essex and Higham in Kent. If you would like to come along and have a go, keep an eye on my Facebook page, where the dates and venues will be published. I now operate a membership scheme for regular racers, which for 2018/2019 season was £25, £10 for juniors (under 16), covering all meetings. Alternatively, I ask that a donation of £3 per event is given, to help pay for the two venues. Cheers MrD.

Hello to one and all I'm a newbie to slot cars and this forum, member of Presto Club in Norfolk, and this year I even won a couple of heats looking forward to learning more and picking brains and staying in the slot!

Hi—

Stan Smith from Newberg, Oregon. I've been slot racing for, let's see, about 50+ years. Started with a Strombecker set (the one with the Testa Rossa and D-Jag), and have been hooked ever since. Currently own a 68.5' 4-lane routed track housed in my shop (2400 square feet!) and race with a great group of slotters called NASTE (Northwest Association of Slot Track Enthuisiasts).

Congratulations to the admins of this new site; hope to see some interesting talk and info here.

Hi

I can't see anything on the index page for Proxy Racing. In most Forums there is a specific area to post as the threads can be fairly long and need different sections such as Rules, Car builds and individual races.

Regards

Alan

Recently won an auction for the Chevy ,only to find out from Leo I had got a convertible !!!!. After a bit of research I found out for a few years that Nascar did race these ( roll cage optional)  but after a bit more head scratching decided to make it into a pace car .

Hi Everybody,

Here are some photos of my first track. It is a Scalextric Classic track of 42m with only one cross-over.
Total lap lenght is 2x42m=84m. At the beginning it takes some time to get use to.
Enjoy the photos.
