As I've been voted into the position of Scrutineer at ESC (Eastcote Scalex Club..soon to be added to this forum) I need to have a gauss checker (magnetometer in other words) to check the magnetic power of motors.
The only checker that I was ever aware of was the one made by DS, but unfortunately they stopped making them a few years ago. There does not appear to be any 'suitable' replacement on the market now.

NOTE:- Do not confuse a Magnetometer/Gauss checker with an EMF checker. An EMF meter measures electromagnetism..in other words the magnetic field generated around something that has electricity flowing through it....like cables in the wall. A magnetometer measures the magnetic field around an object that has magnets in it without any electrical power flowing through it, like a slot car motor off the track.

These are the cars that I have decided to sell. All are 1/32 unless otherwise noted. All are without case and have been driven, some more than others. I will do my best to be clear about the condition of the car in the description. Most of them have had the magnet removed. If you want the magnet, just ask, and I'll see if I can find one that fits. Scalextric C3374
Audi R8 Polizei - This car has working lights that flash along with the siren sound. See the video (not mine) below. This car has been run, and aside from the hard crash that broke the wing off, is in pretty good, fully stock condition. DPR. Sidewinder configuration. Traction magnet is still there. The shoe-goo holding the wing on can be removed but you'll need to use your own method to secure it, or just leave it off.

Mini Countryman WRC - High detail, great condition, run a little but none the worse for wear. Head and tail lights, DPR. Sidewinder configuration. Traction magnet removed.

Peugeot 307 WRC - Working headlights, AWD using rubber band to rear axle. Sidewinder confirugation with motor up front. Rubber band is missing so is currently front wheel drive. Traction magnets removed and mirror(s) missing, wing has been broken and glued back on. Paint in great condition, though.

Lancia Beta Montecarlo Grp5 Martini 1981 - Another workhorse of a race car. Missing both mirrors, but in otherwise good condition. Anglewinder motor pod configuratoin. Traction magnet removed. All original wheels and tires, but this will go like stink with some ScaleAuto 1/32 white stripe foam rubber wheels/tires for exceptional performance on most tracks.

Audi R18 e-tron quattro 4WD - Excellent condition. Barely driven and never crashed hard. All stock except traction magnet removed. This is slot.it's first production car with the all wheel drive sustem using a toothed pulley and one way bearings to drive the front wheels from the anglewinder pod motor configuration. This thing just pulls itself around turns.

Having retired last year I was determined to build the slot car layout of my childhood dreams.
My Goodwood/Targa Florio L shaped track took about 6 months to build, and is more or less finished apart from a few more dedicated figures and of course more cars.

SSC is a permanently set up 132ft long Ninco 6 lane track.
It is located in Stanborough School, Stanborough Park, Watford, Hertfordshire, WD25 9JT.
(Access via Cedarwood Drive).
We race the following classes of cars:- Group C, Group 5, Scaleauto GT3, Classics, Inline LMP/GT, Modified GT, Club Cars, as well as Endurance.  Slot.It DTM's are soon to be included. In addition we run the occasional 'fun night' and Ferrari v Porsche challenge.
We are open every Monday evening from 7pm - 10.30pm. Racing starts at 8.15pm. New members always welcome.

Hopefully the personal disputes which stuffed up some threads in Slotforum over the years will be less prevalent here, respecting the great efforts being made by real enthusiasts to create a new space for us slotcar addicts.
