Running on Tuesday & Wednesday 9-10 June, this is the first HO Drag Proxy of the summer down on the South Coast.

Qualifying is Tuesday and then the Eliminators are Wednesday evening with coverage here on SlotRacer Online.

There are more details about the monthly proxy drag racing series here: https://slotracer.online/community/showt...p?tid=1256

We will be running three classes:

  • Micro Scalextric Street Stock - regs here.
  • Micro Scalextric Super Stock - regs here.
  • T-Jet Nostalgia Super Stock - regs here.

If you have an Auto World 'Legends of the Quarter Mile' 4-Gear Funny Car, send it along and we'll arrange some match-racing. The match-race cars will need to be 100% stock - apart from adding braid to the pick-ups (I can do this, if you prefer) and replacement slip-on rear tyres.

The Track: The Rock County Eighth Mile is a seven foot timed strip (1/8 mile in true HO scale) made from the new 2019 Micro Scalextric sectional track. Cars must be fitted with braids to run on this track. Power for the first event is 12 volts, 4 amps per lane. Power to both lanes is triggered by a single switch firing a 2-channel relay board. Timing is Trackmate Drag Basic. There is a two-foot shutdown with dynamic braking and a well-padded catch box.

Sending cars: Aim for your cars to arrive in Brighton by the previous Saturday (6 June) so they can be quarantined and then registered for qualifying on Tuesday. Please also pack in a small box (max height 7.5cm) and pay for your postage online so no-one needs to go near a post office. These races are designed to be full-on social distancing events that are accessible even to those shielding at home.

How to enter: Add a reply with your interest and the classes you'll be entering - one car per class per person. Family members and friends are very welcome to enter too. I will message  you with the address to send cars to. You will need to pay for return postage. Otherwise there is no race fee.

Entries - June 9 & 10

Micro Scalextric Street Stock: Andy, Rebecca, Gareth, Dylan W, Jane, Jeremy, Leo, Clive, Alan, Peter, Jerome, Terry, Doug, David, Noah, Dylan P (16)

Micro Scalextric Super Stock: Andy, Rebecca, Clive, Alan, Leo, Terry (6)

T-Jet Nostalgia Super Stock: Andy, Rebecca, Gareth, Clive, Alan, Doug, Noah, Dylan P (8)

AW Legends Funny Car match racing: Rebecca ("Cha Cha" Muldowney Ford Mustang), Clive ("Li’l Hoss" Capri), Doug ("Blue Max" Ford Mustang), Andy ("Fighting Irish" Chevy Camaro)

New member, running Scalextric Digital, using Arc PRO.  My love of slot racing goes back nearly 50 years, but my interest in digital is fairly new.

Currently working on a layout design app (for Mac), but really want to get working on a Race Management System (inc pace cars etc) for the Mac once I retire, which should be fairly soon.

As my username suggests, I'm based in Oxford in the UK.

Just bought a used one - well, it's more like 'second owner' - boxed and looks unused. Liked the look of them at Gaydon but didn't like the price.

Done all the oiling as per BRM's YouTube advice but have to admit to not having Loctited all the screws. Also, as per several reviewers comments, have fitted the low profile front tyres supplied in the box. The standard rubber - rubs!  (Can't understand why they'd supply it fitted with 'oversized' fronts but acknowledge they're a problem by supplying replacements in the box!)

Anyway - anyone got other tips to get the best out of the STOCK car? Is BRM's reference to adjusting the 'Convergance' actually a reference to the camber? If so has anyone found the Mini works better with the camber 'dialled out'?

To be fair though, it runs really nicely, especially with the low profile fronts and is very stable/predictable as it is.

What is it with the price of figures creeping up these days? Maybe I am alone in this gripe but have just seen a single 1/32 painted figure on Ebay for nearly £16 inc shipping. There I was thinking £12 is a bit steep. Let's see now....I have about 60 spectators on my circuit, so 60 x £12 = £720. Well...maybe if I just spent £8 per figure...£480. Still too much for me. A lot of figures (unpainted) seem to be around £6, so that would be only £300. Bargain!

I really like the MSC 4WD range of cars and having bought a Metro in the PSR 'Sale' section I jumped on a black 959 when it too was reduced. This was back in late Jan/early Feb, ready for a 'Porsche Night' at the club, which ironically never happened due to the Covid Lockdown.

From Day One it's been a lemon, a Monday morning/Friday afternoon car. The most obvious problem was no drive belt. There was another minor issue I forget but both were sorted within 24hrs by PSR's excellent customer service. However, the edge had been taken off the car and it was boxed up and put on the shelf - until this weekend.

Compared to the other MSC cars the performance has been disappointing, varying from 'almost as good as', to pathetic. It took a lot of tracking down but to cut a long story short 'it's a matter of a pinion'. It's slipping.

I don't feel I can return it after all this time so what is the best fix? Superglue? The pinion can be slid right up against the motor and superglue applied to the motor shaft before reengaging the crown and pinion, so no danger of gluing up the motor. Replace the pinion, with a grub screwed item, if I have one? Remove the existing pinion and savage the shaft (it's smooth, with a brass pinion) then press the pinion back on, or ....?

I removed the front axle from a Slot.It Merc 190E and these plastic bits fell out:

I can't see any obvious place they came from so does anybody know what they are please? Are they important? Where do they fit?

I reckon you guys are the people to ask...

I have bought some Lexan interiors for a couple of race cars. They look like they are black (they are still in transit).

What type of paint should I use to decorate them, and is there any particular kit or technique I should use?

Thank you.

Hi all,

I know these are a kit bash, and not a scratch build, but as I don't have the talent for the later I thought I would document my progress as a man of at best average modeling abilities.
If nothing else it will keep me motivated to see them through if/when things go pear shaped !

Anyways, I wanted a little project to keep me occupied, and when I discovered that Pendle Slot had the Monogram/Professor motor 60's car bodies in my plan was hatched.
As I am building them for home use, a pair is my preferred option, so of the 3 kits the '63 and '65 Ford Galaxie's looked to be similar sized, and theoretically would make a fairly well matched pair.

An email to Anjelo of Amato secured me a pair of 3DP Chassis.
These are an inline only chassis utilizing Slot.It or Scaleauto pods.
Trying to use parts as much as possible form my spares stock led me the route of using some slot it 20k Flat 6 motors with a 0.5 offset pod.

As these are a home use build, I wanted to keep as much detail and close to scale appearance as I could.
I have seen a lot of people build these and have them look like a "slammed"/lowrider car. Fine if these were set to be ultimate performance slot cars, but for a change I wanted to go with a more period look.

As the Galaxie Nascars of the period ran 15" wheels, I have compromised a little, using the plentiful supply I have of slot it/nsr 15.8 wheels which scale to around 15.5".
On these I will use NSR ultra classic tyres, which will be around 20.5mm after truing, giving me a high sidewall look appropriate to the period.

So a quick mock up yesterday with the first 15.8 wheels I found, slipped on some 21mm NSR tryres and added 1mm spacers between body and chassis posts gives me this look:

I think I will add another 0.5 to 1mm and that will have me about where I want, but that can be finalized later :)

TBC...
