Hello. Finding out about digital track has got me excited to jump into slot car racing. I'm leaning towards 132 Carrera Digital at the moment. I am hoping I can get one of the sets that release this October (may pre-order).
Would like to meet fellow hobbyists in the Annapolis-Baltimore-DC area.
Look what I found for all you Dragster nerds (like me)......
Announced for Spring 2022

For some unfathomable reason, over the years I have developed an inordinate fondness for Minis.
I now have far too many, but some of them are actually quite interesting.
First the boring stuff.
Early Scalex C7 (don't like the one with the silly wheel arches), favorite is the black one.
Next the Scalex FWD C76
Now to the more interesting stuff, the Airfix minis which was modified many times over its production years, I prefer the early ones with the useless underpan.
The Airfix mini clearly inspired many scratchbuilders to try their luck in all sort of interesting ways, here is a group shot.
In the next post we'll look at the details

Finished these a couple of days ago,the mclaren m8a of mr mclaren and mr Hulme.commonly referred to as the Bruce and Denny show due to their total dominance of can am,body’s were from my mate George turners scrap pot and needed complete refurbishment, slot it chassis and running gear Tamiya paint which is for their 1/18 m8a and looks rather good.
Well as it says ,my first go at slush casting ,.
The moulds were made by Lloyd of 1\43 game ,although they are 1\32 scale !!!!
I had some resin that was nearing its end of shelf life and used that ,not sure if it would set .
They have turned out a lot better then a thought ,I may have used a bit too much resin but it seem hard to judge the amount ,more will show on the thickness when I cut out the wheel arches and window .One is an Escort ,can anybody identify the other?
Lloyd is exempt for this ,he made the mould .
Hi all, I have a slot it 3D printed chassis for a Carrera BMW DTM that I was hoping to build up but I've immediately hit a snag. The guide mounting is very different from what I've seen before (see pic below), surely the the way in which it mounts at the front will foul the wires from the guide and stop it from turning? What guide setup am I meant to use with this? Anybody have any images of the finished setup?
Thanks
A little later this year - although a month earlier than 2020 - I'm starting to get very excited about the 24 hours of Le Mans. Whatever cars are entered or the level of competition, I love the event. I've only been once - in 2009, when Peugeot won - but have been following the race avidly since the late 70s. Plenty of scaled-down 24 hour Scalextric races happened when I was a kid... and since I returned to slot car racing in the noughties, I've raced at eleven 24 hour events - ten of them on sports-hall-sized replicas of the pre-chicane La Sarthe layout.
The race is next weekend, but the teams and cars are already at the track - getting settled in and starting the scrutineering process...
The cars will be out on track tomorrow for some testing...
The official website and Facebook page are probably the best places to keep up with the build-up during the week. Eurosport and the Eurosport Player will have loads of coverage from Wednesday and Thursday's qualifying sessions and then the entire race. If you have a subscription, you're sorted. If not, there's the choice of a one-month Eurosport Player sub for £6.99 or the World Endurance Championship Le Mans 'Race Pack' for 9.99 Euros - that gives even more coverage from the FIA WEC website and app (see here).
Something I used to do on another forum was a 'Predict Le Mans' challenge. The nature of the race makes it a blind stab in the dark, but it's fun and only adds the heartbreak when your favourite car heads for a long pit stop or retires...
The categories are:
- Overall win (because it might not be a Hypercar...)
- Hypercar
- LMP2
- GTE Pro
- GTE Am
I shall mull over my choices and post them later in the week - at least before the race starts next Saturday at 3pm UK time. You're very welcome to join me.
Hi folks,
I know nothing about modern slot car motors apart from the fact that the fbest I have tried is an NSR King 50. All the other seems to have no grunt at all.
I have a few of the small cans from various sources but don't know what the differences are. Specifically, I put a brown end bell SlotiT motor in my Thunderslot McLaren (the original resides in a ProSlot Toyota and is nice and smooth) so guests could have something that stayed on the track but wasn't too quick. Not too quick is a joke...it's pathetic. One the other hand, I have an orange endbell motor in an inline chassis of some sort and it's decently quick if by no means fast. I think I might swap them.
Does anyone know the ratings of the various coloured end bells? I've looked online but there doesn't seem to be a definitive guide.
